Fredrik Carlström
I am the founder of Carlström & Company, a creative studio and investment firm focused on reimagining overlooked real estate and helping science-led companies tell their story. Part family office, part creative studio, we invest time, capital, and creativity into ideas we believe should exist.
Recent projects include Stockholm Stadshotell, named one of the best new hotels in the world by Travel + Leisure, and SEEQC, the world’s first chip-based quantum computing company, headquartered in New York with outposts in London and Naples, Italy.
Previously, I co-founded Another Structure, a real estate and hospitality development company recognized for its integrated, design-driven approach to transforming undervalued and underperforming properties. Our work includes projects such as Austere, Alma, and Park.
Before that, I served as CEO and Creative Director of Great Works Americas (now NoA Ignite), a leading digital innovation, marketing, and product design agency with offices in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Barcelona, New York, Tokyo, and Shanghai.
Earlier in my career, I spent a decade in the film industry, working in development for Academy Award-winning producer Edward Saxon (The Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia, Adaptation), and later producing films including Big River Man, My Favorite Neoconservative, and Destricted — an anthology series featuring directors and artists such as Marina Abramović, Matthew Barney, Larry Clark, Sam Taylor-Wood, Richard Prince, and Gaspar Noé, which premiered at Sundance and Cannes.
Born in Stockholm, I began my career in the mid-1990s by founding Graceland Sthlm, a creative agency once dubbed the "enfant terrible" of the Stockholm advertising world.
Throughout my career, I have advised companies across technology, real estate, design, hospitality, and media, working with organizations such as Absolut, Bloomberg, IKEA, Volvo, Estée Lauder, MoMA, and President Obama’s White House.
Across industries, I am driven by a love of ideas, an eye for overlooked potential, and a belief that the right combination of people, place, and story can create something truly lasting.
I live in New York with my daughter.
